Severe Debt Problems
There are times in all of our lives when money, or the lack of it, becomes a problem. This often results in a lot of stress and worry for the people involved.
Debt hurts poorer people much, much more than richer people. A £50 fine for going overdrawn may be a poorer persons weekly available income; yet it is of little significance to a richer person who goes overdrawn by a similar amount.
All that happens is that the financial problems escalate the problems for those with less money beyond the ability of them to sort themselves out!
This section is mainly for people (which mostly means families) who are at a stage where they need professional help.
It may be that they simply don't understand what to do or they need qualified people need to be involved to help them.
When people have reached a stage when they cannot help themselves then they need help from other people! The worst thing that anyone can do is to ignore the problems.
There are organisations who may be able to help you. They may simply give advice and refer you to other people. Or they may get involved in your particular problems.
The Citizens Advice Bureau are invaluable giving immediate advice and help. They may feel that you may need to be referred to others who specialise in helping people with your particular problems.
The National Debtline group also give advice and will tell your legal position, what your rights are etc.
The Christians against Poverty organisation also gives debt advice.
Do not ignore problems, they only get worse. Deal with them. You may be embarrassed but lots of people have problems. Having a problem does not make you a failure!
