Apprenticeships

One employment type that meets the needs of a particular group of youngsters is that of being an apprentice. Apprenticeships are practical work-based schemes where the youngster learns practical skills 'on the job' as well as attending college for at least one day a week.

Examples of apprenticeships include many of the skills in the building trade and the motor trade and similar 'practical' jobs.

Apprentices obtain respected qualifications as well as the practical skills required for that particular work skill.
